ForestStar is an independent, editorially curated nature and wildlife content platform. It publishes short-form editorial cards — stories about wildlife, natural habitats, conservation efforts, wilderness stays, and the people protecting wild places. ForestStar is a solo independent project; it is not affiliated with any government body, conservation organisation, scientific institution, or news agency.

By creating an account, installing the app, or browsing the website, you confirm that you:

• •Have read, understood, and agree to these Terms
• •Agree to our Privacy Policy

If you are under 18, you must have your parent or guardian's consent to use the Service.

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT CLAUSE. PLEASE READ IT.

All content published on ForestStar — including descriptions of wildlife behaviour, animal locations, habitat conditions, and conservation status — is editorial in nature. It is written for general interest and storytelling purposes only.

• •ForestStar is not a scientific, veterinary, or professional conservation advisory service.
• •Content should not be relied upon for decisions involving the safety of humans or animals.
• •Wildlife locations mentioned in cards are general and historical — they do not imply that a species currently inhabits a specific location or that visiting is safe or permitted.
• •Do not approach, disturb, or attempt to interact with wildlife based on anything you read on ForestStar. Wild animals are unpredictable and potentially dangerous.
• •ForestStar accepts no responsibility for any injury, loss, or harm arising from reliance on content published on the platform.

ForestStar is an editorially curated platform. All content is created or commissioned by us.

• •We do not accept, publish, or host user-generated content.
• •Every card passes an internal editorial review before publication.
• •We strive for accuracy, but we do not warrant that all information is error-free, complete, or current.
• •We reserve the right to update, correct, or remove any card at any time without notice.

Our Content

All text, card designs, illustrations, UI elements, brand assets, and editorial content on ForestStar are owned by or licensed to us and are protected under applicable intellectual property laws, including the Indian Copyright Act 1957 and international conventions. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, transmit, distribute, or commercially exploit any content from ForestStar without our prior written consent.

Photography & Media Credits

Images published on ForestStar are either licensed from third-party photographers and stock libraries (e.g., Unsplash, direct contributors) or used with permission from conservation organisations or individual contributors. Each image is used in accordance with the terms of its respective licence. Where a photographer credit is displayed, it must not be removed or obscured if content is shared.

Fair Use & Sharing

You may share individual cards via the share function in the app for personal, non-commercial purposes, provided attribution to ForestStar is retained.

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content on ForestStar infringes your copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right, please submit a written notice to us containing all of the following:

• •Your full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address
• •A description of the work you claim has been infringed
• •The specific URL or card title on ForestStar where the allegedly infringing content appears
• •A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law
• •A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of applicable law, that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf
• •Your physical or electronic signature

We will review valid notices and respond within 10 business days. Upon verification, we will remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content. Counter-notices may be submitted if you believe content was removed in error. This policy is consistent with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (India).

Where the Service requires account creation, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at admin.foreststar@gmail.com if you become aware of any unauthorised use. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

You agree not to:

• •Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• •Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service in bulk
• •Impersonate any person or entity
• •Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it

ForestStar cards may contain links to external websites for reference. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. Links do not constitute endorsement.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any content is accurate, complete, or up to date.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ForestStar and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed INR 1,000 (Indian Rupees One Thousand).

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ForestStar and its creator from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Bangalore, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes. For minor disputes, please contact us first at admin.foreststar@gmail.com — we will attempt to resolve disputes informally within 30 days.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance.
